Canadian clock facts

  • Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces set clocks back on Sunday, November 1, 2026. British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba did not, because each province has moved to permanent time (sources below).
  • Manitoba (Winnipeg) is UTC-5 and now matches Ontario, not Saskatchewan. Alberta is UTC-6, British Columbia UTC-7.
  • Saskatchewan (Regina) has no clock changes and is UTC-6 all year. Alberta is now on the same offset all year too, so the two provinces share a clock.
  • Newfoundland is a half-hour zone (UTC-3:30). A pre-load that opens at midnight in St. John's is Wed, Nov 11, 8:30 PM UTC-7 in Vancouver.
  • Pre-load therefore reaches Newfoundland first and British Columbia last, a gap of 3.5 hours across 5 different offsets.
