GTA 6 on PS5 Pro

No. You do not need a PS5 Pro. Rockstar's announced platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation.com (checked October 31, 2026) says "Grand Theft Auto VI will only be playable on PlayStation 5 consoles" and "Grand Theft Auto VI is released for PlayStation®5 and PS5® Pro on November 19, 2026". The store tags the listing "PS5 Pro Enhanced" without describing those enhancements.

A regular PS5 can play GTA VI. PlayStation also lists PS5 Pro and a PS5 Pro Enhanced tag; what that tag changes is not described.

Source boundary: Rockstar facts are marked official; store listings and third-party reports are labeled as such and are not Rockstar announcements. Not a mission walkthrough.

Confirmed now

  • Rockstar's announced platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A standard PlayStation 5 is in that list.
  • PlayStation.com (checked October 31, 2026): "Grand Theft Auto VI will only be playable on PlayStation 5 consoles. It will not be available for PlayStation 4 consoles."
  • PlayStation.com (checked October 31, 2026): "Grand Theft Auto VI is released for PlayStation®5 and PS5® Pro on November 19, 2026."
  • The same PlayStation page badges the game "Available on" PS5 and "PS5 Pro Enhanced".
  • The US PlayStation Store listing (checked October 31, 2026) tags the product "PS5 Pro Enhanced" and lists "PS5 Version" and "PS5 Pro Enhanced" in compatibility notices.
  • Rockstar states the Extended Look was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.

Still unknown

  • What "PS5 Pro Enhanced" changes for GTA VI. PlayStation's pages use the tag and do not describe resolution, frame rate, or extra modes.

PlayStation.com FAQ (checked October 31, 2026): "Grand Theft Auto VI is released for PlayStation®5 and PS5® Pro on November 19, 2026."

PlayStation.com FAQ (checked October 31, 2026): "Grand Theft Auto VI will only be playable on PlayStation 5 consoles. It will not be available for PlayStation 4 consoles."

The product header badges the game "Available on" PS5 and "PS5 Pro Enhanced". The US store listing repeats "PS5 Pro Enhanced" as a product tag and as a compatibility notice next to "PS5 Version". Those are the words on the page. They are not a list of resolution or frame-rate options, and this guide does not invent one.

The Extended Look was captured on PlayStation 5

Rockstar states the Extended Look was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. PlayStation.com repeats that line on the GTA VI game page: "Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5". That is a statement about the footage source. It is not a Pro-only capture, and it is not a spec sheet.
